I love to make art. I love to experiment. I love to play. Books, sheets of paper, canvas, cards, crates no matter the surface, if there is space, there is a place to play. I am in! However, books hold a special place in my heart because you get to experiment and you can simply close the book to others eyes, if you want. You have a record of your art and your progress all in one neat spot. On this day, I played in my journal.
For this creation, I wanted to play with the Art GRIP® Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils, so a sturdy surface was in order and a mixed media book was perfect. What better way to play, allow my creative mojo to flow and experience fun and free flowing creativity.
So here we go my beautiful watercolor flowers. Here’s how it all came together.
Sketch the top of a simple vase.
Use the Art GRIP® Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils , yellow and green set to add splotches of color. I dipped my brush into water and then touched the watercolor pencil and then paint. Add extra water to allow to drip.
Repeat but this time gather several colors above vase opening to start creating the flowers. Also, add color to vase.
Next, use Stamper’s Big Brush Pen White 101 and Black 199 and PITT® Artist Pen Black 199 to draw in details.
Use Faber Castell Graphic Stencil to dab on a bit of color using Gelatos® Double Scoop® Metallic Melon and Gelatos® Colors Snow Cone. I used a paper towel to pick up color and dab onto page.
Splatter a bit of black on page using Gelatos® Double Scoop® Licorice. Dab brush in water and flick across top of Gelatos to create splatter.
Write the word discover on page using a PITT® Artist Pen Black 199, to finish it off.
Tada! Your turn. EnJOY!
