Embrace Your Art 2016: Journal About Me June 3

JAMMING June has arrived!  That’s my JAM!

Here’s how it works each Friday throughout 2016 I will release a Journal About Me Prompt, as well as a creative challenge.  Each week I will include a picture of the round page I created based on the prompt and challenge.  My share may include a video, step out photos or guest artist post.

Jun 3: Prompt 23: A book you read that influenced you or that you loved Creative Challenge: Use your non-dominant hand.

Today I am happy to bring you 2x the inspiration.  First up is our June guest designer Amanda Trought!  Amanda is a wonderful mixed media artist who uses art to help caregivers.

And now here is my page created using my non-dominant hand.  I played LIVE via Periscope.

You can watch the replay here!  I had so much fun doing this LIVE with you.  Thank you to everyone who joined me and played along.

About today’s prompt: Oooopsies!  I was planning to play with my watercolor markers but instead I pulled out my distress markers and did not realize the were NOT the watercolor markers until after the broadcast.  However, I did quickly grab my watercolor pencils and tada!

  1. Hi Tiare,
I hope you have a wonderful time with your mom.
    I finished this prompt.
I write with my right hand, so that is my dominant hand, but I am lucky that I can do a lot of things with my left hand also.
The book that made a big impression on my is “I dreamed of Africa” by Kuki Gallmann, so I made a page around that book.
